Under Eye Wrinkle Treatments

Cheshire Lasers Shares Their Quest to Improve Under Eye Wrinkles:

Cheshire Lasers keeps investing in the latest under-eye treatments.  Improving this area is challenging, and the results can be disappointing. We have so many successful solutions for treating or improving other areas of the face. However, the under-eye area has a different story.

Over the years, Cheshire Lasers has invested in numerous treatments and machines, hoping to find the latest best treatment for under-eye wrinkles. Sadly, many of them have not fully met our expectations. The treatments either don’t deliver consistently high-quality results in everyone, or they cause too much downtime or discomfort. This does not mean they do not work, because they do, but the results don’t work well in everyone or don’t meet the client’s expectations.

The more aggressive treatments work the best, but some of them can leave you bruised for a week or more, especially when a course of treatments are required.

Which treatments can improve under-eye wrinkles?

Cheshire Lasers offers all of the following Under Eye Treatments.

Our favourite treatments for this area at the moment are Nucleofill, PRP,  CACI Eye ReviveUltraformer MF2 and RF Microneedling

Injectable Treatments:

Botox for Dynamic Wrinkles

Most people have heard of Botox; it is excellent for treating what they call dynamic wrinkles, which are wrinkles caused by repetitive muscle movement. Botox works by temporarily paralysing the muscles that create your wrinkles and fine lines. Treatment of these muscles causes the muscles to relax and the wrinkles soften.

Botox is very effective at muscle relaxation (it starts working within a few days), and as long as you do your research and go to a recommended experienced medical practitioner, you won’t end up with the ‘frozen face’ you see in some celebrities.

Botox helps with dynamic wrinkles, commonly known as crow’s feet, but it does not work so well if your concern is directly under the eye. This is because these lines are usually due to loss of collagen and elasticity of the skin and not just repetitive movement.

Find out more about Botox here.

Injectables That Stimulate Collagen Production.

Cheshire Lasers offers a wide range of injectable treatments that stimulate collagen in the skin to improve skin texture and elasticity under the eyes. They can also help improve puffiness and dark circles and are now more popular than tear-trough injections.

They all involve a course of treatments and can deliver fantastic results.  We also still provide tear trough treatments but these are only suitable for certain patients depending on their problem.

View all our under-eye injectable treatments here.

Treatments For Under Eye Wrinkles Non-Injectable:

Most other under-eye anti-ageing treatments involve damaging your skin to make it heal, repair and then regenerate. The results last for varying lengths of time. Generally, the more aggressive the treatment, the better the results and the longer they last.

There are various ways to damage the skin surface:

Some downtime:

Slight downtime:

No Downtime

Treatments unlikely to cause downtime:

Ultraformer MF2

Ultraformer MF2 causes injuries just under the skin using ultrasound energy. The high-intensity energy can be focused at the depth we want, causing injury to the collagen. It does not damage the visible upper layer of skin cells known as the epidermis, so there is little downtime.
This treatment could cause some bruising if you are unlucky. It can also cause a bit of redness, which usually goes after an hour or two. Sometimes it can cause slight swelling, which generally lasts hours or a few days if you are unlucky. Ultraformer MF2 usually requires a course of 3 treatments, sometimes more. It is currently the most popular treatment at Cheshire Lasers. The results are typically visible one month after your first treatment, but the result of collagen remodelling, tighter, younger-looking skin can take three months to be fully appreciated.

Generating approximately 65.4°C into target layers induces natural coagulation and wound-healing processes to stimulate collagen renewal underneath the epidermis. You can read the scientific explanation about how this treatment works here.

Radiofrequency Treatments

The ThermaClinic eye treatment, the Endymed eye treatment, uses radiofrequency technology to heat the skin to around 40 degrees Celsius, which is about the same temperature as a hot shower. The collagen in the dermis layer of the skin is heated to a level where it will contract. This brings on healing and repair, producing new collagen, which remodels and tightens naturally over time.

under eye wrinkle treatment radiofrequency

The CACI Eye Revive

The CACI Eye Revive Treatment involves low-level radiofrequency technology to stimulate collagen, and it then opens up the skin channels of the skin to encourage penetration of hydrating products from the eye revive mask. It soothes tired, puffy eyes, reduces dark circles, lifts hooded eyes and yes, reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

A one-off treatment can lead you to a refreshed look and is great before a special event. However, a course of treatments delivers the best results.

Before and after caci eye revive

Treatments causing surface trauma and downtime:

RadioFrequency Microneedling

Radiofrequency Microneedling involves puncturing tiny holes into your skin which then delivers an electric current to the collagen layer. This energy damages the skin  and underlying collagen to create newer, younger looking firmer skin. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, so it is only moderately irritating, despite how it sounds.
The cons: It takes 4-24hrs for the redness to settle. 3 treatments every 5 weeks may be needed for best results, which include brightening, smoothing and fine-line reduction. Although you can take things slowly and have a treatment every few months.

Laser

Resurfacing lasers create trauma to your skin. The most popular one is a CO2 laser. This is often fractionated in small dots to reduce the amount of trauma to the skin and the downtime. There are some downsides to Laser treatments. Your skin will look and feel badly sunburned for a few days to a couple of weeks depending on the intensity of the treatment. It then goes sandpapery texture for a week or two. The results can be fantastic as long as you are prepared for the downtime. No pain no gain as they say! This treatment is not currently available at Cheshire Lasers. Why not visit The Consulting Room website to see who provides this treatment near you.

Plasma

Plasma Devices use Plasma Energy to create trauma to your skin. The downside is the immediate side effects including, swelling and reddening over the treated area for at least 2-3 days. The healing process will include crusting (which should be left to fall away naturally) over the course of about 7-10 days. Sometimes you can be left with residual inflammation/redness of the skin for weeks after treatment. This treatment is, therefore, more popular for the upper eye area where it can be covered rather than under the eye.
Find out more about Plasma here.

How do I know which under-eye rejuvenation treatment is for me?

Injectable treatments run the risk of bruising and swelling after each treatment. Some of the treatments can help the under-eye dark circles as well as the fine lines.

The more ablative treatments such as CO2 laser and Plasma may require fewer treatments but have a longer downtime and can be more uncomfortable.

The Ultraformer is a compromise as it is quite aggressive in the deep layers of the skin. However, it rarely causes downtime. It can be uncomfortable, but the treatment is quick to perform, so any discomfort is over quickly.

CACI Eye Revive is a very relaxing, enjoyable treatment, but a course of 10 treatments is required once or twice a week.

RF Microneedling is an excellent treatment with excellent results and very little down time. However due to the cost of  the disposable equipment, it is more expensive to perform and is only cost effective if you are considering a full face or face and neck procedure.

Radiofrequency is also a more enjoyable treatment which feels a bit like a hot stone massage for the face.  Maintenance is recommended every six weeks after an initial course of 6 to 8 treatments.

If you are not ready for any of the above treatments, you could try under-eye products.

Please let us know if you would like a consultation for us to discuss your options.

You can book a consultation to discuss our non-injectable treatments here.

Why do we get under-eye wrinkles?

As we age, we lose collagen and elastin in the skin, so the skin loses its capability to bounce back when we move and make different facial expressions. Facial expressions are important, but they do put a strain on our skin and its supporting collagen and over time, can cause dynamic wrinkles.

Smoking, sun exposure, diet and genetics also influence how the skin ages.

One study shows that smoking 30 cigarettes daily will add 14 years to your skin!

There are two types of UV rays present in sunlight. UVB, which is responsible for giving you sunburn and UVA. It is the UVA rays that are responsible for DNA damage and ageing of the skin.

Sugar may also contribute to premature ageing through the process of glycation. Glycation can cause damage the skin tissues over time and may make you more prone to having fine lines and wrinkles.

Genetics and our DNA can also play a role in ageing. Often if your parents and grandparents have great skin, you will, too. However, if they have skin issues like big pores and acne-prone skin, you may also be more susceptible to these issues.

How to prevent wrinkles?

Avoiding smoking, limiting sun exposure and cutting down on sugar will all help to improve your skin health. Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables and including oily fish, like salmon, will also improve your skin health. Vitamins and minerals from fruits and vegetables will boost your overall health and give you a glow from within. Hydration is also crucial to keeping your skin healthy and clear, so ensure you are getting enough water throughout the day, too.

Some serums and creams are designed for the eye area that can help prevent more wrinkles.

The ingredients to look out for are:

  • Retinol.
  • Antioxidants
  • Patented peptides.
  • AHAs
  • Hyaluronic acid / B5 serum

Find out about these ingredients, how they work, and what products you can find them in here.

pHformula Skin Resurfacing

pHformulaThe pHformula Skin Resurfacing systems are a range of treatments that target the needs of all skin types. Their actions are between that of a cosmeceutical and a medical prescription treatment.

How does pHformula Skin Resurfacing work?

It works by stimulating the production of collagen and new skin cells to deliver fresher, healthier-looking skin while preserving the integrity of your skin’s epidermis.

What is different about pH Formula?

pHformula has taken skin resurfacing even further and has a unique mechanism of action based on over three decades of combined scientific, medical and skin health knowledge and experience.

A conventional peel uses high concentrations of acids, which cause tissue damage, inflammation, and plenty of peeling.

Ph formula delivers skin resurfacing treatments with no downtime, no peeling and no impact on social interactions.

The pH formula philosophy is about the ‘outside in’ and ‘inside out’ approach.

The choice of pHformula resurfacing treatments include:

All the above treatments include a combination of different active skin resurfacing serums and a choice of masks to suit your skin condition.

Is pHformula Resurfacing Uncomfortable?

Skin resurfacing does not cause pain whilst having treatment. However, when the active ingredients are applied, your skin may feel hot or itchy and a little uncomfortable.  This sensation is normal and does not usually last longer than a few minutes. If you notice pain or become very uncomfortable, it is important that you tell your therapist, who will remove the treatment immediately.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

The number of treatments needed will depend on your skin concern and the outcome you want to achieve.

A course of between 3 and 6 treatments is typical to achieve the best results.
Our Aesthetician will be able to advise you following your consultation and first treatment, which includes a skin sensitivity test.

Will I Need a Consultation First?

Jowl Treatments

Dr Johnson Discusses Jowl Treatments at Cheshire Lasers:

Learn why we get jowls, the available treatments, and how we can help you achieve the best results at Cheshire Lasers!

Cheshire Lasers provides a wide range of jowl treatments that work in various ways. When considering which treatment is right for you, it is important to understand why your jowls have developed in the first place. Different treatments address different problems, and some people require a combination of treatments for best results.

Why do we get Jowls?

As we age many changes occur which lead to the soft tissues of our face descending down to form jowls.

  • Facial bone and fat loss reduce the volume in our face, so the soft tissues are no longer supported.
  • The skin loses collagen and elasticity.
  • Fat can develop in the jowl area, which pulls down the soft tissues due to its weight.
  • The depressor muscles in our lower face become hyperactive and pull down the skin.

jowls treatment cheshire

At Cheshire Lasers, we often see people concerned about their jowls who are looking for treatments. When considering which jowl treatment is right for you, we advise you to consider the following:

  • Is the treatment invasive or not?
  • How effective is the treatment?
  • Is there any potential side effects?
  • Does the treatment hurt?
  • How many treatments you will need (especially if you have a busy schedule)?
  • How long do the results last?
  • Do you need maintenance treatments?
  • What is the cost of the treatment?

Jowl Lift Cheshire

What treatments are good for Jowls?

CACI Jowl Lift

The CACI Jowl Lift is a non-invasive effective treatment for the jowl area. It works by targeting muscle laxity and muscle overactivity around the jawline. Using electrical stimulation this treatment retrains the muscles, lifting, firming and refining the jawline. It takes approximately 15 minutes/ treatment.

A course of 10 treatments are required but they are not expensive. After this, we recommend a maintenance treatment every month to keep the results long term. There is no downtime and side effects are very rare.

This treatment works well in most people, but works less well if you have very heavy jowls with large amounts of fat deposit.

Find out more about the CACI Jowl Lift.

Radiofrequency

Radiofrequency is a non-invasive effective treatment for skin laxity which can help improve the jowl area. It works by stimulating collagen in the skin making it firmer and plumper it also improves skin tone and texture.

A course of 6-8 treatments are required. After this, a single treatment is recommended every 6 to 12 weeks to maintain the results long term. There is no downtime and side effects are very rare.

We have two radiofrequency treatments available:

  • ThermaClinic – Great for full-face treatments which take an hour.
  • Endymed – A more intensive treatment with an innovative jowl shaper handpiece designed to tighten the skin and mobilise the fatty area of the Jowl.  A treatment takes 40 minutes.

Ultraformer Jowl Lift and Tighten Treatment

The Ultraformer is a slightly more aggressive treatment which reduces the fat in the jowl area and stimulates collagen to give a lifting and tightening effect. High focused ultrasound energy is used to injure the collagen and fatty layers under the skin. This induces fat loss and also stimulates healing and collagen production.

Often only one treatment is required which can take around an hour. The treatment is uncomfortable but most people tolerate it without any problems. 10% of people may experience bruising after treatment but usually, there is no downtime. The results last 12 to 24 months when you may then opt for a second treatment.

Find out more about the Ultraformer Jowl Lift and Tighten Treatment here.

Mid Face and Jawline Volumisation

Mid Face and Jawline Volumisation involves injections of Dermal Fillers or collagen stimulators into the areas where volume has been lost. By replacing the volume the soft tissues in the face reposition reducing sagging and lifting the jowls. Each face is different and will require a bespoke treatment plan but often the cheek and or jawline need treating.

You may need between one to three treatments depending on the amount of volume loss. 20% of people may get bruising or swelling but there is usually no downtime.

Find out more about Mid Face and Jawline Volumisation here.

Thread Lift to reposition the tissues.

Thread Lift treatments are more invasive, they can cause bruising and several days downtime. A single treatment is usually required The ideal patient is someone with good skin quality; neither too thick or thin and mild to moderate sagging in the mid-face. Patients do less well if they have excessive skin in the mandibular region associated. If they have very thin or thick skin or have a lot of fat in the jowl area.

Find out more about Silhouette Soft Thread Lifts here.

Lower Face Lift

This treatment involves surgery it is the gold standard treatment for treating the jowl area. It has considerably more downtime than the treatments above and is not reversible. Cheshire Lasers does not provide facelift cosmetic surgery for the jowls.

Hydro2 Facial

What is the Hydro2 Facial?

Do you love hydrafacial? but fancy something more? If so this new luxury facial may be perfect for you!

The Luxury Hydro2 Facial is the ultimate 5-star facial.  It includes  7-technologies in total.   It contains a hydrafacial treatment but also utilises 6 other technologies to deliver outstanding results for all skin types and concerns.

Using this device Cheshire Lasers can offer a range of different facials to deliver brightening, tightening, anti-ageing as well as clearing skin

The treatments are customisable to all skin types to meet all skin needs and vary from 30 to 110 mins.

Our Luxury Hydro2 Facial incorporates all 7 steps and is the ultimate pamper package.

Here are the 7 treatment technologies which can be incorporated into your Hydro2 Facial:

Treatment 1: The Hydro Deep Cleanse

Similar to the Hydrafacial this uses a combination of three solutions to cleanse and smooth the skin using an AHA & BHA based solutions. It hydrates and nourishes the skin infusing lactic, salicylic and hyaluronic acid to deeply cleanse, purify and hydrate.

Treatment 2:  Exfoliation

This treatment step uses a vibrational cleansing tool and a choice of exfoliation products. It utilises ‘the Bohr effect’ to allow oxygen to be drawn into the skin. The active ingredients can include Kojic Acid and Retinol which result in a hydrating and brightening effect.

Treatment 3: Radiofrequency Skin Tightening

This step uses Radio Frequency technology to increase collagen reproduction. We recommend this step for skin with early and late signs of ageing.

Treatment 4: Skin Lifting with Electro-ion technology

The Electro-ion technology creates skin lifting by stimulating muscle contraction. It is similar to CACI and works well for jowl and eyebrow lifting.

It uses electroporation which also increases the absorbency of the skins cells for product penetration. This allows our time defence and brightening serums to penetrate deeper into the skin.

This, in turn, revitalises and ‘wakes up’ dull and lifeless skin

Treatment 5: Fire & Ice

5 A – The ‘Fire’ represents the heat element during treatment. The handpiece uses heat to open the pores, increase blood supply and aid product infusion.

5 B – The ‘Ice’ a Cryo facial that uses cooling technology, chilling the skin down to 5℃. This step comes at the end of each facial. It decreases the blood supply, giving a tightening effect and sealing in the infused products. It also helps to reduce any redness following treatment.

Treatment 6: Ultrasound / Hydration

This step uses ultrasound technology to infuse a hydrating collagen-rich serum from a mask for maximum penetration.

Treatment 7: Oxygenation

The Oxygenation spray is used to apply a hydrating serum. It creates a Venturi effect which breaks down the serum molecules and encourages maximum absorption. This helps to deliver intense skin hydration.

Applying oxygen to the skin using this method helps to increase cell metabolism and improve these concerns. Some bacteria are not able to live in oxygen, so applying oxygen to the skin will give this anti-bacterial effect, having a positive effect on congestion.

We can deliver a range of bespoke facials using these 7 technologies and can also add on Dermalux LED according to your requirements.

Check out the Singing Dentist experiencing his first-ever  Deluxe Hydro Facial we think it’s hilarious.

Here is our feedback from our first treatment:

HYDROFACIAL – 5* ultimate facial!! Everything you could ever want in one facial! I’ve experienced many facials over the years, but this treatment absolutely blows everything else out of the water!! Highly recommended – it combines a traditional hydra facial with radio frequency (using a much improved and more superior machine), together with muscle stimulation and tightening (similar to a CACI facial – of which I’m a huge fan). It doesn’t stop there, my therapist Natasha continued the treatment with lots of anti-ageing and hydrating serums and a gel mask infused with collagen and antioxidants, which was stimulated using sonic vibration. The final stages were an oxygen facial and finally a cryo-facial. As I stated, this 5* facial combines absolutely everything!!
My therapist, Natasha was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, she explained every procedure and highlighted the benefits!!
The results are AMAZING, my skin is positively glowing and lifted! Definitely a red carpet treatment. Give it a try, I promise you, you won’t be disappointed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

EndyMed Jawline Shaper

endymed jawline mini shaper treatment cheshire

Whats is the EndyMed Jawline Shaper Treatment?

Cheshire Lasers Clinic is excited to introduce the Endymed Mini Shaper.

This innovative handpiece has a unique concentric electrode surface, which provides focused 3DEEP Radiofrequency energy deep into the skin for maximum results. The Mini-Shaper is the most effective handpiece available today for treating the jowls and under the chin.

The Mini Shaper stimulates collagen production and increases fat cell turnover. This allows us to contour the jawline and deliver an effective tightening action to treat sagging, lax skin as well as improve tired, dull skin.

How does the EndyMed Jawline Shaper work?

The shaper handpiece delivers controlled radiofrequency energy delivery exactly where it needs to be. The radiofrequency energy penetrates the dermis down to 7mm which is much deeper than our other treatments.  The Mini-Shaper offers nearly twice the power than other similar-sized RF treatment handpieces on the market. It also maintains tissue heat for long after the treatment is complete, providing extremely effective heating.

The heat energy stimulates existing collagen and encourages the production of new collagen to give tighter, firmer more lifted skin. It also focuses on fat cells which helps reduce the heaviness of the jawline to deliver an improved contour.

The following diagram demonstrates the treatment area:

How soon can I see results?

Results can be seen immediately but a course of treatments are required for the best long-term results.

The pictures here show the results before and after only one treatment. These results are short term and will improve and last longer after a course of treatments.

Ultraformer Jowl Treatment

Who is the EndyMed Jawline Shaper Treatment suitable for?

This treatment is suitable for all skin types. We highly recommend it if you have heavy drooping jowls or have skin laxity and sagging under the chin.

Is there any downtime?

The EndyMed Jawline Shaper treatment is painless with little to no downtime. You may experience some redness in the treated areas, but this will subside within a few hours.

How many treatments will I need?

We recommend a course of six treatments for optimal results. Ideally, we like to book the treatments every 1-2 weeks.

Following the initial treatment course, we recommend one treatment every 2-3 months thereafter to maintain the best possible results. However, some people are happy with the results of a maintenance treatment every 3-6 months.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning treatment with Millie in Middlewich Cheshire

Jade Maines of Beautology performs Dermaplaning treatments at Cheshire Lasers Clinic.

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation treatment that brightens and gives the skin an instant glow.

A sterile scalpel is used to gently and safely remove dead skin cells from the top layer of your skin (epidermis).

This non-invasive treatment leaves the skin more receptive to serums and moisturisers, therefore increasing cell renewal and the production of collagen and elastin, for a more youthful and rejuvenated complexion.

An added bonus to this treatment is the removal of the vellus hair (peach fuzz) on the surface of the skin. This gives a silky look that allows make-up to be applied flawlessly. The treatment is pain-free and many clients have reported it is as a calm, relaxing experience.

What are the Benefits of Dermaplaning:

Removal of dead skin cells
Increases cell turnover (increased collagen production)
Instantly reveals brighter, glowing skin with minimal downtime
Baby soft skin
Removes vellus hair (peach fuzz)
Aids product absorption by up to 70% allowing serums and moisturisers to reach the lower layers of the skin and be more effective
Make-up glides on and sits on the skin smoothly
Unclogs pores
You can benefit from a one-off treatment for a special occasion or have a course of treatments as part of your regular skincare regime. (every 3-4 weeks)

Will Dermaplaning affect hair growth?

Dermaplaning does not alter the structure of the hair. Hair growth will return as it was before the treatment and WILL NOT grow back faster and thicker.

Contraindications to Dermaplaning:

Active acne – pustules, broken or damaged skin
Oral retinoids – Roaccutane (cannot be taken for at least 6 months before treatment)
Topical retinol is OK
Active skin infections – psoriasis, dermatitis (if on the face)
Auto-Immune diseases – lupus

Cautions for Dermaplaning:

If you have any of the following, please arrange an initial consultation/assessment before booking a treatment:

  • Diabetes that is not controlled (well-controlled diabetics are fine to be treated)
  • Blood thinning medicines
  • Sensitive skin
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

Please note:
We do not recommend a Dermaplaning treatment less than 5 days before a sun holiday.  As the skin is highly sensitive to sun rays following the treatment.

Pre-treatment advice:

  • do not use sunbeds on the day of the treatment and for up to 7 days after.
  • arrive to your appointment make-up free or with as little make-up as possible.

The face will be cleansed and prepped as part of the treatment; however, removing excess make-up and stubborn eye make-up will eat into the treatment time. This means less time for the Dermaplaning.

Dermaplaning Aftercare:

Your skin will be slightly red after the treatment and for up to 1 hour after
You can apply make-up immediately after; however, we recommend you allow the serums to absorb into your skin first for best results, which can take several hours.
Please wear a high SPF for at least one week after treatment.
Vellus hair may feel blunt when growing back

For hair removal, the treatment is kinder to the skin and is also less traumatic than waxing as no heat or chemicals are applied. No hair removal treatment can ever be pain-free. However, we use a wonderful desensitising Witch-hazel Solution that will make your threading experience as pleasurable as can be.

Regrowth is finer, softer and smoother – retraining unruly eyebrows to grow in a more flattering direction.

The frequency of your threading experience will depend on personal hair re-growth. Most clients visit us at Cheshire Lasers every 3-4 weeks.

Ultraformer Wrinkle Treatment

Cheshire Lasers is excited to now have the Ultraformer MF2 wrinkle treatment.

The sensitive and shallow regions around the eye, the mouth and the forehead can now be treated with ultrasound technology with ease due to the newly developed MF2 Ultraformer Treatment.

What can the MF2 Ultraformer Wrinkle Cartridge treat?

The great news is that we can improve fine lines and wrinkles with only one treatment. However, we recommend a course of around three treatments for best results. Different people respond differently and have their skin has different needs and starting points.

You can view our Ultraformer MF2 before and after images here.

Ultraformer MF2 Treatment Areas:

The Upper Lip

We have treated upper lips with the Ultraformer MF2 with considerable success so far. This is an excellent treatment for smokers lines and would suit someone who is afraid to have Dermal Fillers but wants improvement to the area with no downtime.

This treatment is also suitable for someone who has had fillers in that area already, and the lines are starting to come back, but they are not ready for more fillers.

The Perioral Area

The area in the image is treated to improve fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment improves the smokers lines and the cobblestone effect that can occur in this area due to age and sun-damage.

The Under Eye Area

We have treated the under eye area the Ultraformer MF2 and seen impressive results so far.

This area is challenging to improve; in the past, the treatments we have tried have required many repeat treatments and given only slight improvements or have been too invasive, requiring an extended downtime.

The MF2 treatment may only require three treatments, and there is no downtime.

There is the option to also treat the crow’s feet and part of the upper eyelid with this treatment.

Does the Ultraformer MF2 treatment hurt?

The treatment feels like warm pulses of ultrasound energy, which may feel uncomfortable for some people. Treatment around the mouth and perioral areas may feel sensitive in the teeth momentarily.

How many Ultraformer MF2 treatments will I need?

Some people will see a small improvement after one treatment but generally, we recommend a course of 3 treatments once a month. However, this will depend on the severity of the condition to start with and the collagen stimulation response of each client.

At Cheshire Lasers, we have found fine lines and wrinkles that have been there a few years have needed 2-3 treatments. Whereas lines that have been there many years have required at least 5 or 6 procedures.

Can I have the Ultraformer MF2 treatment if I have Botox or fillers?

The MF2 treatment is an alternative treatment to fillers; however, it can be used alongside a filler treatment to create even better results.
If a dermal filler is in the treatment area, we ask that you leave three months for the filler to integrate with the tissues before having an Ultraformer treatment. For Botox, the MF2 treatment can be performed in the same area 2 weeks after the injections.

How long will the Ultraformer MF2 results last for?

Following the final treatment session of the course, it will take 60-100 days for the collagen to stimulate and for the full results to be visible. The results can last up to 12 months. However most people like to have a maintenance treatment every 2-4 months.

Are there any side effects to the Ultraformer MF2 treatment?

Common side effects after the treatment are redness and swelling. This normally reduces a few hours after and you can go back to your regular daily activities straight away.

Bruising can occur, which is more likely around the eye area.

Am I suitable for an Ultraformer MF2 treatment?

We do not recommend the Ultraformer treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you have teeth implants in the treatment area or metal braces. However invisaline braces, veneers and fillings are all fine.

Tattoo Removal at Cheshire Lasers

At Cheshire Lasers we use A Lynton Q-Switch Laser for Tattoo Removal. Made locally in Holmes Chapel by Lynton Lasers, it uses the most advanced technology for Tattoo Removal. Q switch lasers are the only type of laser that are safe and effective for the removal of tattoos.

Not all lasers are the same and not just any laser can safely remove tattoos.

What type of Tattoos can our Lasers fade?

Our laser can fade away tattoos of various size and colour. Tattoos are of two main types: the Indian ink amateur tattoo or the multi-coloured, professional tattoo.

What colour Tattoos can it fade?

Single-colour tattoos usually respond best to laser tattoo removal. Multi-coloured, professional tattoos are much more difficult to eradicate completely.

Black, blue and red colours in the tattoo respond best to treatment, but green, yellow and purple pigment can be more difficult.

Green coloured tattoos may require different lasers for successful treatment and we may need to recommend a specialist clinic with a ruby laser to remove this colour.

At Cheshire Lasers Tattoo Removal is popular for people who:

  • Wish they had never got a tattoo
  • Who are looking to fade a tattoo for a new design
  • Need to remove a tattoo to help pursue a career

What happens during a Tattoo Removal Treatment?

Active Q-Switch Lasers that generate a high powered beam of laser light in an extremely short pulse are the most suitable lasers for tattoo removal treatment. The light is absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, breaking them down into smaller pieces, enabling your natural immune defences to absorb and disperse the ink. A gradual fading of the tattoo occurs over a series of treatments.

The skin is cleaned and the laser applicator is passed over the tattoo releasing quick pulses of light. You will hear an audible clicking noise as the ink particles shatter. After treatment, we will apply a dressing to keep the area clean and dry.

What does it feel like?

Most clients describe the sensation as similar to a hot pin prick or the flick of an elastic band. Whilst mildly uncomfortable, most people tolerate the treatment well. A skin cooling device may be utilised to reduce any discomfort.

How does the skin look after a Tattoo Removal treatment?

An instant whitening of the skin occurs but this generally fades quickly. The area is likely to feel tender for a few hours and can be red and swollen for up to 48 hours.  Initially, the tattoo is unlikely to look any different but will fade over 4 to 8 weeks as the body breaks down and disperses the pigmentation.

What is the recovery period?

Some tattoos can graze or blister, if so make sure you left to heal naturally. After your treatment, we will apply a dressing. Keep the area dressed and covered until the area heals. This is important if you develop blistering or grazing, it is also important not to not pick the area while it is healing.

Very rarely the skin may become lighter or darker, or larger blisters may form.

Changes to skin texture and scarring is possible, though very uncommon and is more likely if grazes are not allowed to heal naturally. There may be loss of natural tanning ability in the area treated which usually improves with time.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on a number of factors such as the density and colour of the tattoo and the age of the tattoo. Amateur tattoos can be quick to remove, taking 1 to 6 treatments, whereas professional tattoos vary considerably and can take up to 15 treatments. We recommend you have your treatments every 6 to12 weeks.

Treatment can take 10 minutes to 30 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo.

At Cheshire Lasers we also provide Tattoo fading for clients who wish to alter a part of their tattoo.
