A 40-minute treatment with our therapist can visibly rejuvenate skin to provide a softer, smoother, more youthful-looking complexion. A course of peels are recommended for best results the number required depends on your skin type, tone, and condition.

How do I embark on a course of Medik8 Peels?

Before starting a course of peels you will need a consultation ideally 2 weeks or more weeks before your first treatment. We will assess your skin and recommend a treatment program depending on the areas you want to be treated, your skin type, tone, and concerns. We will make sure you have no contraindications ( see below **) and perform a patch test.

It is important to consider skin preparation and after-care so you can plan your treatments.

You will need to prepare your skin for at least 2 weeks before your peel to achieve the best results from your treatment. As a minimum we recommend the following products:

• Medik8 C-Tetra Intense
• Medik8 Crystal Retinal 3
• SPF 50+

Skin types 4-6 will require an additional preparation product which will be advised during consultation. (*** See below)

Universal AHA

Suitable for everyone and any skin concern, it visibly brightens, smoothes, decongests and revitalises the skin. We recommend this peel as your first treatment before trying the stronger peels.  It is also a good treatment to maintain results from other peels.

*Post Peel Aftercare

• Avoid AHA and BHA exfoliants for 5-7 days post peel.
• Avoid AHA and BHA wash-off products for 3 days post peel.
• Do not step up your Vitamin A strength.
• Avoid make-up for 12 hours post peel.
• Avoid fake tan 7 days post peel.
• NO heat treatments for 48 hours post peel.
• Treat the skin gently and do not pick, allow it to naturally peel.
• Limit sun exposure and wear SPF 50+.

• We will also provide you with the following Medik8 products to use for 3-4 days after each treatment:

  • Hydr8 B5
  • Ultimate Recovery Intense
• Continue with your SPF
• If prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation use your Medik8 White Balance Brightening Serum.
• Continue with the rest of your CSA routine 3-4 days later:

• 3-4 days after you can also integrate your other products provided your skin has recovered.

• Sunburn
• Active bacterial/viral/fungal infection
• Collagen vascular disease
• Open cuts in the treatment area
• Pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Allergy to aspirin (only Clarity Peel)
• Significant immunosuppression
• Roaccutane use in last 6-12 months.

• Longer pre-peel prep: a minimum of 4 weeks rather than 2
• Use an additional pigment suppressant (Medik8 White Balance Brightening Serum).
• Must start on Universal AHA peel.
• Longer intervals between treatments: every 3 weeks.
• Strictly limit exposure to direct sunlight.
