Michaela Duffy Counsellor

Michaela Duffy Counsellor Middlewich

Michaela Duffy Counsellor at Cheshire Lasers.

Michaela offers a supportive, non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. She uses an integrative therapeutic approach, bringing together ideas and techniques from different counselling models. This allows her to adapt sessions to suit each individual’s unique needs rather than taking a “one-size-fits-all” approach.
At the heart of Michaela’s work is building a safe, trusting relationship while drawing on tailored methods to help clients explore experiences, understand patterns, and find new ways forward. She works collaboratively with clients to explore fresh perspectives and keeps their personal goals at the centre of every session.
Clients often find that working with Michaela helps them develop greater self-awareness, build resilience, and discover more effective coping strategies for daily life.

What to expect at the First Session

The initial session is an opportunity for clients to share what has brought them to therapy and for both client and therapist to get to know each other. Michaela asks gentle questions to better understand the situation while giving clients space to talk about what feels most important to them.
During this time, Michaela explains how she works—including confidentiality and practical arrangements—and explores what clients hope to gain from counselling. It is also a chance for clients to ask any questions about the therapeutic process.
Many people find that this first meeting eases initial nerves and helps them decide whether they feel comfortable working together. From there, clients and Michaela decide together on the best way to move forward.
