Removal of Skin Lesions

At Cheshire Lasers our doctors remove a wide range of blemishes and skin lesions, using cryotherapy and electrocautery, which is also called advanced electrolysis. Every lesion is assessed by a doctor before it is removed. The links below explain what each lesion is and how it is removed, and each page gives its own prices.

If you are not sure which treatment you need, email photographs of the area from a couple of different angles to cheshirelasers@hotmail.co.uk. It’s helpful if you let us know how long the lesion has been there and whether it’s changing in any way. We will ask our specialists to review your email and advise our reception team on who you should see. Sometimes we will ask you to book a consultation first.

• Mole Removal
  Moles removed by Dr Will Allen, a consultant cosmetic and facial reconstructive surgeon. He assesses every mole first, and only removes it here if he is satisfied it is safe to do so.
• Skin Tag Removal
  Skin tags are small, harmless growths that hang off the skin, often on the neck, in the armpits or under the breasts. Removed at Cheshire Lasers by one of our doctors.
• Thread Vein Treatments
  Thread veins, also called spider veins or red veins, on the face and legs. Treated with IPL, electrocautery or microsclerotherapy, depending on where they are and whether they are flat or raised.
• Wart Removal
  Warts and verrucas are caused by a virus, so they can spread and come back. Removed by Dr Hazlehurst or Dr Drinnan, usually using cryotherapy.
• Milia Removal Treatments
  Milia are the tiny pearly-white bumps most often seen around the eyes and upper cheeks. They are harmless keratin cysts sitting just under the surface of the skin.
• Seborrhoeic Keratosis (Seborrhoeic Wart) Removal
  Seborrhoeic keratoses, also called seborrhoeic warts, are harmless rough patches that look stuck on to the skin. Removed by cryotherapy, or by shave excision when they are larger.
• Xanthelasma Removal
  Xanthelasma are the yellowish plaques that form on the eyelids. Removed by Dr Will Allen, a surgeon with specialist training in the eye area, preserving the delicate eyelid skin.
• Advanced Electrocautery
  Heat at the tip of a fine needle, used to remove lesions precisely — skin tags, blood spots, seborrhoeic keratoses and facial thread veins among them. Performed by our doctors.
