Shrinking Violet Body Wrap Questions and Answers

What is the Shrinking Violet Body Wrap?

The Shrinking Violet Body Wrap is a pain-free inch loss treatment that removes unwanted fat from all over the body, it does not rely on dehydration or water loss for its results. So you do not need exercise or diet to achieve inch loss, unlike the other fat reduction treatments available at Cheshire Lasers.

What are the active ingredients in the Shrinking Wrap?

The ingredients used during the Shrinking Violet wrap include an active phospholipid solution, pre-blended essential oils designed to reduce cellulite, these are made up into a nanoceutical solution which means the active ingredients can penetrate the skin in seconds.

The shrinking violet wrap would not be complete without using wrapture a special type of heat inducing film wrap.

The phospholipid solution consists of hydrolysed lethecin at a 20% concentration three times more concentrated than most other wraps.

How do the Shrinking Violet ingredients work?

The heat generated from the wrapture allows the active ingredients to penetrate the skin and work on the cells in the fatty subcutaneous layer just underneath it. The ingredients change the permeability of the fat cells causing them to release intra-cellular fat, which reduces the size of the fat cells — changing the fat from a triglyceride (within the fat cell) to free fatty acid. In this form, the fat can be more easily removed from your body. It is essential that you drink lots of water following the treatment for 72 hrs to help this process.

Does the Shrinking Violet Wrap cause side effects?

Side effects have not been reported.

The treatment works on the fat cells only and does not affect any other structures in the skin.

After a shrinking violet wrap, you may pass more urine for a day or two.

Contraindications to the Shrinking Violet Body Wrap?

The Shrinking Violet Body Wrap is not suitable for clients who have the following;

  • Pregnant
  • Breastfeeding or had a baby in the last three months
  • Severe eczema or psoriasis
  • Recent Surgery
  • Soya Bean Allergy
  • Insulin Dependant Diabetes

When will I see results from a Shrinking Violet Wrap?

For best results, we recommend a six-week course of Shrinking Violet Wraps.

However, some people see results after just one treatment.

How do I prepare for the Shrinking Violet Body Wrap?

For best results avoid alcohol, caffeine and fizzy drinks for 24hrs before your treatment.

Drink 1-2 litres of water a day for 48hrs before treatment.

Do Not moisturising your body on the day of your treatment.

Eat lighter meals on the day of your treatment.

What should I wear for the procedure?

You will need to be in your underwear or bikini for this treatment, whichever you feel most comfortable in.

What should I expect during the Shrinking Violet procedure?

Before and after pictures are taken, and you will be carefully measured before and after the treatments so you can compare the results.

Then you will be lightly dry body brushed to stimulate blood circulation and the lymphatic drainage system, and shed dead skin cells.

The Shrinking Violet solution is then massaged into the skin, and the wrapture is applied.

Finally, you will lie on a heated bed as heat is the activator needed for optimum slimming results

For the next hour, you can then relax and enjoy a complimentary facial while the ingredients go to work.

The wrap is then removed, and we will measure you again.

There are no messy bandages which absorb the product rather than it going into the body, and there is no chemical smell.

We advise you do not shower for 24hrs after the treatment as the oil continues to penetrate your skin.

Your skin will be grease-free, will feel hydrated and smell of lavender, cypress and juniper from the scented oil.

What should I do after a Shrinking Violet Wrap?

Do not to shower, swim or exercise for 24hrs after the treatment

Avoid alcohol, caffeine and fizzy drinks for 24hrs after the wrap.

Drink 2 litres of water a day for 72hrs.

Following a healthy diet and lifestyle to maintain your results.

Will the results from a Shrinking Violet Wrap last?

This depends on your lifestyle, eat healthily and exercise regularly and the results are more likely to last.

If you eat excess calories and lead a sedentary lifestyle the results will not last as long.

Do I lose weight with the Shrinking Violet Body Wrap?

The Shrinking Violet Body wrap works to breakdown unwanted subcutaneous fat and has no effect on the fat stored elsewhere in the body nor the water and muscle mass that affect your weight, so do not expect weight loss from this treatment.

Ultraformer III Body Treatments

Ultraformer Body treatments Cheshire Lasers

What is Ultraformer HIFU Treatment?

Ultraformer is an advanced High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) treatment. It is a non-invasive treatment that uses focused ultrasound waves to penetrate deep into the skin and underlying tissues without damaging the surface to deliver a non-invasive face, neck and body lifting treatment.

Benefits

  • Tightens and firms the skin.
  • Destroys fat cells.
  • Increases the elasticity of the skin.

Ultrasound Energy has a Thermal Effect.

The body treatments focus the energy precisely to specific depths between 1.5mm to 13mm below the skin. The energy generates tiny pockets of heat in the targeted areas ( around 56-70c).

Fat Cell Disruption

This heat is enough to disrupt the fat cells and cause them to break down.

The destroyed fat cells are then naturally processed and eliminated by the body’s lymphatic system over the following weeks. This reduction in the fat cells leads to a reduction in body fat.

Skin Tightening

The heat generated by the ultrasound waves also stimulates the production of collagen. Collagen helps keep the skin firm and more elastic. By stimulating collagen production, HIFU helps tighten loose or sagging skin on the abdomen and thighs.

Results are not immediate and can take up to 12 weeks to become noticeable as the body processes and eliminates the destroyed fat cells; however, some clients may notice immediate tightening.

What parts of the body can the Ultraformer treat?

The Ultraformer III can treat most body parts. At Cheshire Lasers, we mainly treat the abdomen where it works the best; sometimes, we also treat above the knees and upper arms.

We can, however, also treat the face, jowl area, neck and chest.

How long does an Ultraformer Body Treatment take?

Ultraformer III has a fast shooting speed, which means some treatments take only 45-60 minutes.

How many Ultraformer Body Treatments will I need?

For body contouring, approximately three treatments are usually enough for most people; however, some may need less and some more for the best results.

Treatments are usually carried out every month.

The results can last up to a year, so you may decide to have further treatment when the results start to wear off.

When will I start to see results after an Ultraformer Body Treatment?

Ultraformer III can show some immediate results as the stimulating heat can make your skin look more rejuvenated, fresher, tighter and firmer. However, the final results develop 60 to 100 days after the treatment, when the fat reduction and collagen regeneration become more noticeable.

What is the recovery time for Ultraformer treatments?

You can go back to work and normal life immediately after the treatment.

Is the Ultraformer treatment painful?

During the treatment, you will feel warm pulses of ultrasound energy deep under the skin, causing the collagen and muscle layers to contract. Some people may find this uncomfortable, but others report no pain with the treatment at all. Some people will need to take some simple painkillers before the treatment; however, this depends on the pain sensitivity level of each individual, the area to be treated, and the size of the area to be treated.

Does Ultraformer have any side effects?

The heat levels created by the Ultraformer device only treat the targeted area and do not damage the surrounding tissue. The energy targets the deeper levels of the skin and not the upper layers, so there are usually few visible signs on the skin’s surface post-procedure. The only noticeable effects are usually tightening and redness an hour or two after treatment. A small percentage of patients may have slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch over the treated area, but these are mild and tend to last no more than a few days.

A small proportion of people may experience slight tingling or tenderness in the area treated for several weeks as the growth of new collagen occurs.
The most frequently reported side effects are:

  • Swelling
  • Redness
  • Tingling of the skin
  • Tenderness
  • Bruising

Is Ultraformer safe?

Ultraformer has been cleared by the Korean FDA after demonstrating safety in clinical studies. Tens of thousands of treatments have been performed worldwide without significant adverse events. Ultrasound energy has a proven track record and has been used in the medical profession for over 50 years, including pregnancy scans.

View more details about how Ultraformer works here.

Contraindications to Ultraformer Treatments include:

  • Pregnancy
  • Metal implants in the treatment area
  • Tumours
  • Uncontrolled Epilepsy
  • Recent surgery
  • Heart conditions
  • Severe skin laxity
  • Excessive fat

How is the Ultraformer different from Radiofrequency (RF)?

Radio Frequency (e.g. Endymed, Thermaclinic) addresses issues in the superficial layers of the skin (e.g. fine lines, wrinkles, skin tone and texture). The Ultraformer addresses the deep skin layer and the foundational muscle layer that lifts and supports the skin, similar to cosmetic surgery. Therefore, the two technologies can be used together depending on your skin concerns.

Thermalipo

thermalipo cellulite treatment

What is Thermalipo?

ThermaLipo radiofrequency treatment is for the reduction of cellulite as well as improving slightly lax skin and mild stretch marks. A course of ThermaLipo treatments can eliminate unsightly appearance of “orange peel” skin and significantly improve overall skin tone, texture and elasticity.

How does ThermaLipo Radiofrequency work?

A form of energy called Radiofrequency (RF) is applied to the skin via a bipolar applicator and gently heats the deepest layers of the skin. Raising the temperature increases local blood circulation, encourages drainage of fatty deposits into the lymphatic system and promotes the breakdown of fibrous tissue and a reduction of volume in fat cells.

How is the treatment carried out?

A thin layer of gel is applied to the treatment area and an applicator is moved in circular motions gently warming the skin. Once the desired skin temperature is reached, this is then maintained for a few minutes to ensure consistent deep tissue temperature is reached. Typically each session lasts 30 to 45 minutes depending upon the treatment area. The gel is then removed and a cooling lotion is applied

Am I suitable for treatment?

If you are generally healthy, then ThermaLipo radiofrequency treatment can help you to re-contour your body with minimal risk. The procedure works best for the reduction of mild cellulite and skin that’s slightly lax. Areas that can be treated include the abdomen, “love handles”, “saddlebags”, knees, inner thighs and arms.

Moderately severe skin laxity, cellulite or stretch marks respond better to RioBlush CarboxyTherapy but this treatment is more painful.

Severe skin laxity and severe cellulite needing fat reduction also will need more invasive surgical procedures.

What should I expect after treatment?

The treated area may be pink for a short time after treatment but this will subside quickly. Normal activities can proceed immediately and no special aftercare is required. Immediately after treatment, the contraction of collagen fibres improves skin elasticity. Other benefits are progressive and the full effect is generally seen after a course of treatments.

How many treatments are necessary?

Generally, a course of 8 to 10 treatments are recommended at weekly intervals. In the case of stubborn cellulite, additional treatments may be required.

Is the treatment effective?

Designed by dermatologists, the ThermaLipo’s efficacy has been demonstrated through multicentered clinical trials.

How does the treatment feel?

Due to the unique, multi-frequency technology delivered in a ThermaLipo treatment, there is no discomfort. ThermaLipo initially heats deep within the tissue and then alters its frequency automatically to heat the skin’s surface. A warm, gentle heating sensation is experienced and no anaesthesia or pre-cooling of the skin is required.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are rare but can include mild discomfort, oedema (swelling) and erythema (redness) which disappear in a few hours.

Consultation Procedure Prior to treatment.

You must first undergo a consultation where details about your medical history are obtained in order to confirm suitability. Before proceeding with treatment you will also be asked to complete a consent form.

Omnilux Light Therapy

The benefits of light therapy are widely recognised in modern medicine. most of us recognise how we are influenced by the power of light, on a warm sunny day we feel so much happier than on a cold winter evening.

Omnilux™ was developed after twelve years of research to harness the power of light to deliver safe, effective skin rejuvenation and wound healing treatments. It is a painless, totally natural treatment for a wide range of skin concerns including lines and wrinkles, general ageing, acne, psoriasis and photo damage.

Omnilux™ light therapy is suitable for you if:

  • You want to lift and rejuvenate dull, tired skin
  • You suffer from active acne and are struggling to improve it.
  • You want to start an anti-ageing therapy
  • You suffer from Vitiligo or psoriasis and want to try a light based treatment
  • You require wound healing (e.g. post surgery or after an accident)

Combining Omnilux™ light therapy with your current skin regimes and other cosmetic treatments such as Botox will enhance their effectiveness. It can also be used in combination with our Advanced Facials, Microdermabrasion, Skin Peels and Fractional Laser treatment.

The Omnilux™ system is based around narrowband Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). Each treatment head delivers pure, optimised light that is carefully selected for the optimal dose. Cells in our body which contain receptors absorb this light which leads to increased cell energy, accelerating the normal skin processes to be more efficient. This results in increased stimulation of collagen within the skin.

What does treatment feel like?

The beauty of Omnilux™ is that treatment is totally pain-free and completely safe! It stimulates the natural functions of your skin cells without causing damage. Therefore, there is no downtime or risk of unwanted side effects.

How many treatments will I need?

We recommend a course of treatments approximately two a week for four weeks. However 1 or 2 sessions can give skin a ‘pick me up’ prior to an important business or social event.

How long do results last?

Results may vary from person to person but after a course of treatments clients report an overall improvement to skin tone, clarity and a softening of fine lines and wrinkles. The skin continues to improve for 3-6 months after a course of treatments. We recomend maintenance sessions for the best results.

This video shows Sarah Jagger from “Girlsmadeup” demonstrating an omnilux treatment on youtube.

In a single study using Omnilux revive on its own 91% of volunteers reported visible changes to their skin indicating that even 5 weeks after the last treatment there was still a positive effect on the evaluation criteria. 64% reported a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles and a perception of softer skin and 68% reported smoother skin the therapy was well tolerated and there were no reported side effects. No pain was encountered during the treatment regime and there were no reported side effects such as erythema and swelling.
Optimum hydration of subjects skin was seen at 5 weeks post treatment.

A different study showed adding in some treatments of Omnilux plus ( a head that produces a different wavelength of light) gave even better results. 83% of all subjects reported a softening of fine lines and wrinkles after a course of Omnilux revive and Omnilux plus combination therapy. Over 75% reported a marked improvement in skin softness and smoothness.

Acne

Omnilux is a popular treatment in acne prone skin, giving on average an 81% clearance in clinical trials.

We can recommend this treatment for you if you want to:

  • Reduce the number of spots and blemishes
  • Calm inflamed, painful acne
  • Accelerate healing of red blemishes and acne scars
  • Have clearer, brighter, fresher looking skin

Here is a video on youtube about omnilux for treating acne.

Images before and after a course of 8 treatments.

The Omnilux™ system delivers pure, optimised narrowband light doses to successfully treat mild to moderate acne. This pain-free light is safe and uses no ultraviolet (UV) light or lasers. Cells in our body contain receptors that absorb this light which leads to increased cell energy and accelerates the normal cellular process. Blue and red light are alternately administered.

1. The blue light kills the acne causing bacteria (P.Acnes) that can form within the sebaceous glands and cause infection leading to break outs.

2. The red light stimulates anti-inflammatory properties to accelerate the healing process and calm irritated skin and reduce redness.

We may recommend Omnilux as a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with skin peels, microdermabrasion and specialist home care products.

Light therapy is relatively quick and easy.

You lie down during treatment. The skin is first cleansed and safety eyewear placed over the eyes.

The Omnilux treatment therapeutic light is then administered for 20minutes.

Make-up can be applied immediately after treatment and you can carry on with everyday activities.

Hyperhydrosis

hyperhydrosis treatment in Cheshire

Cheshire Lasers Hyperhydrosis Treatment Information

Do you suffer from embarrassing excessive sweating?

Hyperhydrosis, also spelt Hyperhidrosis, is the medical term for excessive sweating.

In 2004, the FDA (U.S. Food & Drug Administration) approved BOTOX (Botulinum Toxin Type A) for the treatment of severe primary axillary Hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating of the underarms) in patients unable to obtain relief using antiperspirants.

BOTOX is the most studied brand of Botulinum Toxin in the world. It can treat a wide range of conditions, including spasticity and movement disorders. Botox has FDA approval in the United States for the treatment of excessive sweating.

Local injections of Botulinum Toxin alleviate the symptoms of Hyperhydrosis.

Research has shown that treating the armpits, hands, feet, and face with Botulinum Toxin is safe and effective.

In one clinical study involving 322 patients with severe underarm sweating, 81% of the patients receiving Botulinum Toxin injections achieved a greater than 50% reduction in sweating. 50% of the patients had their excessive sweating relieved for at least 201 days (nearly 7 months).

How does Botox stop Hyperhydrosis?

Botulinum Toxin is a natural, purified protein with the ability to temporarily block the secretion of the chemical in the nervous system that is responsible for “turning on” the body’s sweat glands. By blocking or interrupting this chemical messenger, Botulinum Toxin “turns off” sweating at the area where it has been injected.

What does a Hyperhydrosis treatment involve?

Your doctor or prescribing nurse will first identify the area of excessive sweating and the location of the sweat glands.

They will then inject small amounts of Botulinum Toxin with a very fine needle just under the skin in the area. Multiple injections 1 to 2 cm apart are needed to treat one area.

How long does Botox for Hyperhydrosis last?

Botulinum Toxin injections do not cure Hyperhidrosis; your symptoms will return gradually. You will need to repeat the treatment to maintain dryness. These repeat injections may be necessary at intervals varying from 7-16 months.

Which areas can Botox treat for Hyperhydrosis?

  • Underarms
  • Forehead
  • Hands
  • Feet
  • Scalp

Swedish Massage

What is Swedish Massage?

Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage in the West. The massage is performed while lying on a massage table with your face down. A Swedish massage can be slow and gentle or vigorous and bracing; this depends on your request and the therapist’s personal style.

Swedish massage is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology, as opposed to energy work on “meridians” or sen lines in Asian massage systems.

What do I wear during a Swedish Massage?

During a Swedish massage we recommend you do not wear any clothing on top but recommend you wear your underpants so you and our therapists are not out of your comfort zones.

What does a treatment involve?

In all Swedish massages, your therapist will first consult with you to discuss any issues or injuries you may have. You can also tell them upfront if you prefer light or firm pressure.

Your therapist will use a pre-blended oil and perform various massage strokes. These movements warm up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle “knots”, reducing pain and stiffness and promoting relaxation.

The therapist uncovers only the body part he/she is working on, keeping the rest of your body nice and warm.
You usually start by lying face down with your head in a U-shaped face cradle so your spine stays neutral. The therapist generally starts by massaging your back, using various massage strokes that include sliding, gliding, kneading, friction, stretching and tapping. The therapist then massages the back of each leg then turns you round to massage the front of each leg, both arms and generally finishes with your neck and shoulders.

If the pressure is too light or too firm, you should speak up and ask the therapist to adjust it.

Swedish massage usually includes some deeper work on areas of specific muscle tension, but if you truly want deeper, more intensive treatment with firmer pressure such as a deep tissue massage or a sports massage.

Swedish massage is performed by Jade at Cheshire Lasers.

Jade provides a range of massage treatments, including pregnancy massages.

Aromatherapy is a massage with essential oils. The oils are derived from the essence of plants, flowers, trees and berries.
